If any of your closets are "overstuffed" it will send a message that you do not have enough storage. Believe me when I say that potential home buyers will open "all" closet doors when considering your home.
Here are a few tips -- they may seem over the top but do take heed:
- Remove all clothes that you haven't worn in the last year
- Remove last seasons clothing - this will really open up the space
- Matching hangers - yes this will make a difference!
- Hang all matching items together - pants, shirts, dresses etc.
- Now sort these matching items in color groups - black, white, blue etc.
- If possible have at least an inch in between each clothing item
- Shelves - if you need to stack items on your shelves, purchase nice matching boxes or baskets to place these items in...the look is much neater and cleaner looking
- When is the last time you painted the closet - UGH, but it makes a positive difference
